COACH TIPTON

Coach Tipton is entering his 2nd year with the Golden Bears as an assistant coach. Coach Tipton is a 1989 graduate of Oldham County High School in Buckner, Kentucky. He was a 4-year Baseball letterman setting the single season HR record as a junior with 11 HR. Coach Tipton was awarded All-District Honors in 1998 and 1999. Coach Tipton signed NLI with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers as a catcher in 1989 and transferred to the Cumberland University Bulldogs in 1990. While there, he led Cumberland to 3 straight conference championships, 2 District 24 Titles, a Southeast Regional Title, and a 3rd place finish in the 1993 NAIA World Series.  Coach Tipton won the Golden Glove Award in the 1993 World Series, setting the Series record for most putouts in a game (20).

Coach Tipton was an Assistant Coach at Cumberland University under NAIA Hall of Fame Coach Woody Hunt from 1995-1996.  Coach Tipton has coached baseball, basketball, softball, and volleyball at the high school level at Station Camp High School and Liberty Creek High School.
