RYAN ROETS
Coach Roets is entering his 4th year with the Golden Bears as their pitching coach with a career record of 64-47-1 and a 3-year team ERA of 3.36. In 2022, he lead the pitching rotation alongside Coach Tompkins to a 28-10 record (12-0 in district play). The Golden Bears earned the title of District 9AAAA Champions and advanced as 1 of 16 teams in the state to the AAAA Sectional Game. In 2023, the Golden Bears earned the title of District 9AAAA Champions, Regional Champions, and advanced as 1 of 16 teams in the state to the AAAA Sectional Series.
He has had the pleasure of developing student athletes over the last 10 years as a pitching coach, head coach, and assistant in Atlanta and MJ. His background in pitching, performance and management has culminated in continued success as a coach and mentor. Coach Roets is a Pitching Coordinator and Assistant Coach for Five Star Baseball.
Coach Roets teaches Business Management at MJHS and operates with a lifelong student mentality himself. Roets has a Bachelors in Fine Arts and Communications from the University of North Carolina and a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Cumberland University. He leads with a passion for growth, safety, high-performance, and stamina in the connections he builds.
Coach Roets and his wife, Madeline have a beautiful 4 year old daughter, Mackenzie and live in Mt. Juliet. Before moving to MJ 6 years ago, he started Throttle Athletics to facilitate a mobile atmosphere of pitcher development. Coach Roets is set to open his new facility, PowerTech Sports Institute here in MJ in the coming months. In an ever-evolving world of data driven baseball and analytics, he strives to offer players the opportunity to understand the metrics with a stronger focus on improving movement patterns to increase efficiency and dominate on the mound.
